The first thing you want to do is check your electrical panel to see if you have a tripped circuit or blown fuse. You can easily reset the breaker by pushing it to the OFF position and then turning it back ON. If it doesn’t reset, there may be an overload in the electrical circuit or a defective appliance plugged into the circuit.
If the power is only out in one area of the house, check to see if there are any GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacles on the circuit. (They usually have TEST and RESET buttons on them.) Press the reset button and see if that restores the power.
If the power is out in multiple areas, there may be a larger problem. It could be your main breaker or fuse box. You can try and reset the main breaker but make sure you turn off the rest of the breakers in the panel to avoid damaging your main breaker.
